How to Use the Mirror to Transcend Victimhood and Depression

Contentment in Life comes down to our relationships, and to the extent we see ourselves as victims in our relationship, depression ensues. As we continue to follow thoughts of victimhood, we become more fraught with fear as we are led deeper into states of depression for longer periods of time.

The other people that you experience from day to day are mirrors of your consciousness. This does not mean that if someone acts angry toward you then you’re angry, or if someone has lied to you that you’re a liar.
The mirror is much kinder and more instructive than these and other mental labels of self worth. Specifically, the other person mirrors an image of the judgment you are holding – which causes a conditioned feeling response to arise within you.

In this way, whenever you feel like you’ve been wronged by another person, it only means you have given your power to them in thought, thus making your self out to be their victim. To the extent you believe your self to have been wronged, you may experience victimhood and depression.

The feelings that arise in response to the idea that you’ve been wronged is an indication of how you’ve been programmed to create your life up to this point in time. But you, being the awareness from which your consciousness arises, have the power to respond in a new way – thus deliberately programming your consciousness to create a life experience that glorifies your Divine essence.

To effectuate the process of deliberate re-programming, notice when you experience a feeling of mental/emotional dis-ease, stop what you’re doing, and just observe the thoughts as they tell your programmed story.

In this observation, it helps to remember that whatever has happened, is happening or will happen has been ‘right’ for you because it has led to exactly where you are in this precious moment. Indeed, it’s all going perfectly from the perspective of Spirit – and despite what the confused mind will have you believe, you are not a separate entity from the One Spirit.

Through this practice of awareness, judgments that no longer serve you are released, not because they are resisted – but because your perspective has been moved into closer alignment with Eternal Life. In turn, the world around you changes to reflect your new state of consciousness as you progress along this path.

Consciousness

Human Universe 1It would only be logical to begin at the beginning…but there is no beginning.  You are an infinite being, a aware aspect of the same energy that creates and sustains everyone and everything known and unknown in the universe and beyond.  As such, you have no beginning and no end…you are forever.

Not only are you part of everything and everyone, you are also everywhere.  In fact, the person that you see in the mirror is not the real you, but an expression of individualized energy of awareness which you have created to represent you in this material environment.

For this reason, your cells are of great importance.  Not only do they make up every part of your material body and sustain its health, but their outer layer (membrane) has many tiny receptors specifically tuned to your energetic vibration so that your essence can be transmitted into the life of the world.  In a manner similar to the way radio stations are tuned to specific signals, your cells are tuned to your nonphysical energy which is always being broadcast throughout the entire universe.

While the cells of your material body are always receiving and transmitting your essential energy, thoughts which arise from your focus in the material world also instruct and influence every cell of the body.  If those thoughts are in harmony with your core knowledge, there is harmony between you and your physical form, and you feel joyful or loving.  If not, those thoughts create resistance which you feel as many different degrees of disharmony – from excited and hopeful to desperate and depressed.

In addition to the vibratory information which your cells receive from you and your thoughts, cells also receive information from the many tiny particles which create their physical environment.

Because you project through a single organism into this reality, it appears to your senses that you are separate from everything else.  However, you are actually part of everything, everything is part of you, and you are co-creating this reality.  For that reason, it never benefits you to harm any person (including yourself), to hold a grudge, speak or even think disparagingly about anyone or anything.

You have chosen to project through a material body into this time-space reality in order to experience the physical sensation of joy, and you will experience much more joy when you choose thoughts, nutrients and environment with awareness and gratitude. Being conscious gives you the ability to recognize what direction to move in order to deepen the connection to your true essence as you journey through this lifetime.

Transforming Emotions

When dealing with anger, depression, fear, stress or anxiety, it’s important to get ourselves to a good place before saying or doing anything that may evoke regret.  Once we can attain a calm mind and deep breath, the words and actions we choose will be much more productive.

The key is to stay present with our thoughts.  When we notice any uncomfortable or painful emotion, it benefits us to stop what we are doing, and immediately focus awareness on the breath.

From there, the breathing can be slowed and deepened, bringing mental activity back under conscious control and turning emotion into inspiration.   To perform this alchemy, keep the lips together, face relaxed, and breathe deeply and lightly through the nose, all the way to the bottom of the abdomen.  Think about the breath filling from your pelvic floor, upward.  After the abdomen expands fully, allow the breath to move up the sides of the spine and into the chest.  On the exhale, release the breath from the chest first, then down the sides of the spine, and finally release it from the abdomen, contracting the abdominal muscles gently to get the last little breath of  air out.

After about three breaths, the mind should be more focused.  Now, while continuing this breath, allow the mind to identify any tension in the body and gently release it.  This may take one to thirty more breaths.  Do this until you feel relieved of mental stress and muscular contraction.

From this new perspective the perceiver is open to information that can be used to make the most out of any circumstance or situation.  Remember, EVERYTHING is easier with a calm mind and deep breath.
